MICHAEL STONE
Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Michael Stone grew up in a very active music and drama oriented neighborhood, located on the south side. Graduating from high school with music and acting on his mind, he went on to serve his country by joining the U.S. Navy. Upon leaving the military, Michael entered the University of Minnesota where he earned his Masters Degree in Theatrical Arts and Production.
Michael’s extreme love for the arts, led him straight to Los Angeles where he pursued his career in the entertainment business as a recording producer. In conjunction with his producing career, Michael always stayed close to many aspects of the entertainment business including film, television and video production, writing and directing, and even stunt doubling for Joe Pesci, Bob Hoskins, Mickey Rooney and Nathan Lane in motion pictures and television.
Soon, Michael discovered that he had a great talent for and desire to work with celebrities as their professional body guard and Road Manager. In fact, he lived by the motto of “securing protection for all clients.” His music mentor, “Big Mama Thornton”, gave him his first break in the business and taught him everything he knows about the road. His talents and passion took him on a journey which included being a Security Director for Wolf & Rissmiller’s Concerts, Soft Touch Protection, the 2002 Stella Adler Awards and the Route 66 Sunset Concert Series. He even enjoyed being the protection agent for the legendary Miss Della Reese and has worked with many other clients including James Brown, Sarah Vaughan, Tom Petty, Peter Gabriel, Prince, Phil Collins and Ozzy Osborne to name a few.
Soon his interest led to concert promotions, in large part because of his behind the scenes knowledge of concert events and his continued passion for entertainment arts. He assisted the city of San Bernardino and produced the “Route 66 Sunset Concert Series”, founded the Maui Music Festival in 1995 and established Michael Stone Events in 2006.
In May of 2008, Michael teams up with “Della Reese” and produced the first of “Della Reese Presents” concert series hosted by comedian “Fred Travalena” and will continue to produce and promote nothing but the best in entertainment.
To summarize, Michael Stone is considered by most in the business, as the ultimate producer in entertainment production.
